Nicholas Stewart - Dip PFS, Cert CII(MP)
Managing Director 

After an early career in Building Society Management, Nick became an Independent Financial Adviser in the late 1980's and holds the current industry benchmark qualifications.  He is a dedicated Professional with an unblemished record of over 25 years’ experience, committed to delivering high quality advice and has considerable experience in advising High Net Worth Individuals, Small Medium Enterprises and is Managing Director of two IFA Businesses.

When not working, Nick's time is taken up with sport, mountain biking, skiing and running in particular and is also a keen motor sports fan.

Keith Jarman - Dip PFS, Cert CII(MP)

Keith is the Practice Pensions Specialist

Keith joined Hughes Carne from the start having worked for a major UK Life Office for 10 years. He has the current industry benchmark qualifications and the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate passing specific examinations in the areas of Taxation, Trusts and Pensions. Keith has additional qualifications in Mortgages and Home Finance (Equity Release) and is a member of the Personal Finance Society.

When he is not working Keith shares the Mark Twain approach to Golf.

Charles Seymour-Cole - Dip PFS, Cert CII(MP)
Registered Adviser

Charles has been an IFA for over 20 years and has been a Registered Adviser with Hughes Carne since 2014. He is qualified under the current industry benchmark qualifications and the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate passing specific examinations in the areas of Taxation and Trusts. He also has additional specialist qualifications in Mortgages and Home Finance (Equity Release) and is a member of the Personal Finance Society. Charles is dedicated to providing a professional service to his clients and is particularly experienced in Pension, Investment and Estate planning.

Colin Chambers Dip PFS
Registered Adviser

Colin has been in the industry for some 24 years starting with a major life company based in Southampton, then moving to a local IFA practice in 1997. He joined Hughes Carne early in 2015, and holds current industry benchmark qualifications. Colin Is a member of the Personal Finance Society and has a broad base of specialist knowledge focusing on wealth management, investments, pension planning, protection and inheritance tax planning.

When relaxing after work Colin adopts the Luge position whilst watching a good film and tasting good red wine.

David Young BA (Hons), Dip PFS, Certs CII(MP&ER)
Registered Adviser

David is the newest member of the advisory team, having joined us recently from another local IFA practice.

David graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2008, with a BA Hons in Business Studies. He holds the current industry benchmark qualifications, along with additional specialisms in mortgages and Home Finance (Equity Release). David also holds the Long Term Care qualification, recognising him as a ‘Later Life’ Advice Specialist.

In addition to the above, David is also currently studying towards becoming a Chartered Financial Planner and hopes to achieve this status over the next few years. This is the most widely accepted "gold standard" qualification available for Professional Financial Advisers in the United Kingdom. David has a wide knowledge in all aspects of financial planning, and has a particular interest in Pensions, Investment (both mainstream and non-mainstream) and tax planning.

Outside of work, David is keen cyclist and has also recently begun playing golf again after a number of years away from the sport.

Kate Keay

Kate has been in the industry for over 15 years starting out at a major UK Life company before joining a local IFA practice in 2003 and joining Hughes Carne in 2013. She oversees all aspects of the business from people management, sales generation & coordination, re-designing processes & procedures, as well as ensuring a consistent and efficient service is offered to our clients..

Sharon has been with Hughes Carne since the Company was formed in 1995. Her duties as Business Services Manager are many and varied but, in the main, consist of ensuring a friendly & efficient service is delivered to clients.
